About The Position

Babies"R"Us team member will work regularly and engage with Guests to find and sell products that match their needs. This role involves creating an animated, appealing environment, providing leadership, analyzing business performance, and ensuring a safe, profitable, and entertaining store operation. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, removing cardboard, applying shelf labels, safe box cutter usage, returning merchandise to the storeroom, understanding merchandising protection standards, performing merchandise searches, handling stock inquiries, assisting in multiple departments, and promoting services offered by Babies"R"Us brands.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Genuine care for customers and a sense of curiosity to learn about their needs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisory staff and buying office.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Interpersonal skills -- working alone and with a team.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fun environment and an overall sense of playfulness.
  • Ability to manage a sales floor by delegating tasks effectively, ensuring the sales floor remains appropriately stocked and visually merchandised, Associates are Customer-focused and store atmosphere is reflective of Go!/BRU.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Guests to find and sell products that match their needs.
  • Practice STAR (Smile, Talk, Approach, Rapid) when interacting with Guests.
  • Lead by example in modeling energetic and engaging Customer service behaviors.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and embrace new products and selling techniques with a positive attitude.
  • Coach peers in anticipating customer needs, encouraging purchase, and creating a fun store atmosphere.
  • Flawlessly execute merchandising standards and marketing events.
  • Support the team in building and maintaining a store culture of continuous growth.
  • Hold yourself accountable for demonstrating Customer-centric selling behaviors and for individual sales contributions.
  • Build team morale by celebrating successes.
  • Partner in new-hire onboarding and ensure all team members have the information they need.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations, including opening/closing store protocols, are completed to GO! BRU standard.
  • Understand how to assess KPIs and link them to behaviors to make real-time decisions.
  • Quantitatively link the consistent delivery of the Customer experience to the achievement of sales goals.
  • Clearly and concisely share learnings with Home Office partners, communicating with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ensure all team members remain updated on company policies and store promotions.
  • Consistently protect company assets through Loss Prevention training and maintaining protocols.
  • Maintain safety standards and follow company policies.
  • Manage store supply inventory.
  • Stock shelves at a rate of 20 cartons per hour, replenishing merchandise and transporting it by hand.
  • Remove empty cases from the sales floor to the designated discard area and use the baling machine.
  • Assist in maintaining a well-stocked and neat store appearance.
  • Manually place shelf labels on lip below merchandise or scanner peg hooks.
  • Safely operate a box cutter for opening cased merchandise.
  • Assist in replenishing items that are not on the selling floor.
  • Understand and process multichannel functions (GFS, GFS ASP, SOS, Layaway and ISPU).
  • Return merchandise to the storeroom.
  • Understand basic merchandising protection standards, PORT, key item facing, SFIS.
  • Perform physical searches for merchandise in the storeroom or on overstocks.
  • Respond to telephone calls from Guests inquiring about item stock.
  • May be asked to work in multiple departments.
  • Be familiar with all services offered by Babies"R"Us brands and drive for results when selling these products.
