About The Position

The Brow Waxing Expert, also referred to as the Arch Expert, represents the Benefit brand at Ulta Beauty and maximizes sales through guest engagement, product recommendations, and short beauty services. The role includes determining guests’ individual needs, assisting with merchandise selection and purchases, and performing services such as eyebrow and facial waxing and tinting. The Expert supports the Experience Manager by focusing on performance, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures and standards. An active esthetics or cosmetology license is required where mandated by law.

The position involves meeting sales and service goals, building guest loyalty and an active clientele, maintaining knowledge of beauty products and trends, and collaborating with store associates and Benefit brand partners. The Expert also maintains the Brow Bar and assigned areas, follows safety and sanitation requirements, and supports store operations, events, and inventory activities.

Requirements

• Cosmetology or esthetics license where required by state law.
• Proficiency with equipment needed to perform technical work.
• Significant competency in sales, products, and service.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle guest concerns positively and proactively and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described in the working conditions, including continuous mobility and object coordination, frequent standing and other movements, and lifting or moving items.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed Benefit brand sales and service goals and contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omnichannel performance, and retail shrink.
• Greet and engage guests, personalize service, and recommend complementary products, samples, and services.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Perform Brow Bar services including eyebrow and facial waxing, tweezing, eyebrow tinting, strip lash applications, and threading, following company policies and procedures.
• Use the appointment book or system to book initial and return services and events.
• Meet average sales per labor hour and sales-to-service-ratio goals.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, services, ingredients, and benefits during work time.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment supporting teammates, peers, and internal and external guests.
• Participate in Benefit and Ulta Beauty training, team meetings, and brand and category education.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and an active clientele portfolio for Benefit services.
• Maintain relationships with Benefit brand partners through required trainings and in-store events and promotions.
• Partner with Prestige consultants and salon professionals to promote teamwork and customer service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Follow Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures before, during, and after services and comply with state board guidelines.
• Follow the Ulta Beauty and Benefit brand dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
• Keep the Brow Bar and assigned areas replenished, signed, and faced; maintain testers according to hygiene standards.
• Communicate supply needs to store management and brand representatives in a timely manner.
• Maintain operational standards and cleanliness in the Brow Bar and any additionally assigned areas.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and shipment processing using brand and company technology and best practices.
• Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
• Attend brand-sponsored trainings.
• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
