About The Position

The Brokerage Post Entry Agent proactively executes flawless operational performance, productivity, technical expertise, excellent customer service and consistently driving efficiency, supporting our Vision and Mission Statement. The Post Entry agent supports post entry activities and projects while ensuring compliance with brokerage imports standards, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in import brokerage.
  • Experience interacting with government agencies.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented and proactive in customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels written and oral communication and presentations.
  • Ability to relate and influence employees at all levels.
  • Problem solving and business analytical skills.
  • Ability to complete work within standard procedures, guidelines and office policies.
  • Disposition to take ownership on assigned projects.
  • Self-driven personality and good business sense are expected.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of 19 CFR (Parts 1 – 199) and the HTSUSA.
  • Research, problem solving and results oriented.
  • English fluency.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Customs Brokerage License.
  • Certified Import Clearance Specialist Certifications (Internal).
  • Hands on knowledge of Post Entry Standard Processes.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor key metrics to achieve expected results.
  • Complete 52-hour training per year (4.5 per month).
  • Complete all mandatory trainings timely, including New Hire trainings.
  • Ensure timely completion of CICS (2 years) and Billing Certification (1 year).
  • Employee development ownership, participating in all scheduled 1:1’s and EPE’s in a timely/actively manner.

  • Efficiently monitor the Post Entry Management Application, assisting in all activities related to post entry submissions, working in coordination with customer, operations, the CEE and CBP when appropriate.
  • Ensure self-assessing, proactively prioritization of requests depending on workload, urgency and time sensitivity based on Customs Regulations timelines.
  • Organize and re-prioritize all request as needed to meet all deadlines accordingly for Post Summary Corrections (PSC), 520D NAFTA Refund request, 3347 Declaration of Owner, and 514 Protest and CAPE filings.
  • Keep all Post Entry documentation updated and referenced in our electronic records.
  • Actively participate in identifying improvement opportunities of our tools and continuously strive for efficiency, productivity and quality of the service.
  • Monitor and properly tend to Customs rejections, identify PSC docs required requests, email management, 520D USMCA refund status review, 3347 Declaration of owner confirmations, and CEE communications.
  • Consistently close off all finalized post entry & 520D projects with recaps and invoice customers accordingly.
  • Upload all pertinent project back up correspondence and information.
  • Review all 520D USMCA refund request for USMCA certifications compliance.
  • Review all PSCs for customer approval and appropriate compliant back up or customer confirmation prior to submission.
  • Review all 3347 Declaration of owner for compliant customer approval and CEE notification as well as CEE feedback/confirmation correspondence, upload all backup to our electronic records.
  • Continuously maintain communications to our customers, both internal and external, at the highest level. Ensure that the customer is aware of the status and/or problems relating to the service provided.
  • Ensure responses to inquiries from internal and external sources are prompt, accurate and reliable.
  • Display a professional, courteous and confident attitude to our customers and co-workers.
  • Address all correspondence within the hour or acknowledge the request and action within 24 hours.
  • Immediately report any unsafe condition or incident to the Branch Health and Safety representative.
  • Timely and correctly bill all processed entries, update CFIT notes with any exceptions.
  • Understand all accounting processes and reports and its impact.
  • Monitor and constantly work on preventing monetary losses.
