About The Position

The Brokerage Assistant role is an entry-level position within the fast-growing Brokerage department, offering a path to Underwriting. The role provides support by reviewing applications, evaluating risk, and determining markets for brokering accounts. While no insurance experience is required, strong communication and time management skills are essential. The position is based in Plantation, Florida.

Requirements

• Strong customer orientation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Time management skills with ability to multi-task
• Must be able to prioritize and be responsive to complex issues
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to navigate various websites and databases
• Motivated and willing to grow with Brokerage department

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Follow up on submissions and quotes
• Clerical processing including inspections, cancellations, audits, endorsements, etc.
• Correspond with underwriters and carriers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests regarding brokerage items.
• Prepare brokerage production spread sheet via excel
• Maintain brokerage marketing and reference tools via excel
• Data collection of submissions, quotes, rates, etc.
• Review existing brokerage files in preparation to support new markets
• Assist on new business submission in brokerage underwriter or associate broker’s absence
