Requirements

  • Hands-on knowledge of Customs clearance functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in US Customs Brokerage
  • Bachelor's degree in Import/Export, International Trade or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor key metrics to achieve expected results, including employee satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely completion of training, certifications (CICS, Billing, DG imports), and employee development activities.
  • Perform consistently at the highest level according to District Excellence expectations and standards.
  • Execute timely data entry and event management for various operational stages (DXR, LOG, ENF, ESP, INV, UCE, AUE, ADD CVD, EDE, etc.).
  • Maintain 100% Trade Compliance and ensure timely follow-up on exceptions.
  • Monitor and ensure timely events on In-bond transactions, communicating proactively with carriers and interested parties.
  • Exemplify and teach company culture, mission, and goals.
  • Follow Code of Business Conduct, 10 Critical Success Factors, and all company policies and procedures.
  • Understand, monitor, and ensure consistency in quantitative and qualitative performance.
  • Contribute to healthy cross-functional relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Communicate proactively with Team Lead, Supervisor, and Management regarding training, support, or tools needed, and escalate issues.
  • Prepare, follow-up, and execute personal development plans and goals.
  • Provide courteous and professional communication in all interactions.
  • Notify customers of potential delays in a timely manner.
  • Respond to internal and external customer requests timely and accurately, ensuring no email goes unanswered over 24 hours and urgencies are addressed within <1 hour.
  • Understand and follow Border Brokerage Operational Process Standards.
  • Comply with company controls, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Maintain the highest compliance level on Customs entries, In-bonds, and FTZ admissions according to laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure customer expectations are complied with and documented on Customer SOPs, working with management to keep SOPs updated.
  • Participate in product trainings and stay current with regulatory changes.
  • Ensure files are logged correctly and timely with proper codes, trace types, and events, avoiding post-summary corrections.
  • Address all exceptions and shipment holds timely.
  • Escalate inconsistencies or concerns with customer instructions and regulations to management.
  • Properly use all Expeditor systems and tools.
  • Immediately report any tools or systems failures and escalate as needed.
  • Proactively report opportunities for automation to improve compliance and productivity.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Ensure all emails are handled timely and professionally.
  • Ensure customer legal documents are updated prior to entry processing.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness and comply with District Excellence metrics.
  • Immediately report any unsafe condition or incident.
  • Timely and correctly bill all processed entries and update CFIT notes.
  • Understand accounting processes and reports and their impact.
  • Monitor and work on preventing monetary losses.
