About The Position

The Broker Events Specialist, Sales & Distribution is responsible for the development and execution of strategic corporate broker events. This role is also responsible for assisting with the implementation of marketing and communication plans to support the achievement of corporate and broker goals. The incumbent plans, executes and measures the effectiveness of all events and related activities, and promotional programs for internal and external audiences. Coordinating and organizing broker events and conferences (i.e. research venues, prepare proposals, book travel arrangements, prepare communications, maintain event budget and on-site management). Managing all facets of corporate event tickets including providing overall management and administration of tickets and ticket planning. Ensuring the accurate preparation of presentation material. Setting clearly defined objectives for all events and prepare pre- and post-event reports for senior management. Managing on-site logistics for all events.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of event experience preferably in an insurance environment.
  • Excellent communication skills including writing, editing and proofreading
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office - MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or desktop publishing software

Nice To Haves

  • Previous training experience an asset.
