About The Position

Seeking a motivated and experienced Broker / Binding Underwriter to join a team in a production role. The ideal candidate will bring a profitable book of business, strong carrier and agency relationships, and the ability to hit the ground running. Open to hiring an experienced professional or an up-and-coming talent with a proven track record in the industry.

Requirements

• A profitable book of business and strong industry connections are highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience in wholesale (e.g., RT, Amwins, CRC, J&J) or retail spaces with relevant connections are encouraged to apply.
• College graduates with backgrounds in Risk Management, Insurance (RMI), Sales, or Business are welcome.
• Self-starter with a sales mindset.
• Strong industry connections and specialized knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver consistent results.
• Professionalism, ethical decision-making, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in customer service or the restaurant industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select new business and renewal accounts in alignment with underwriting philosophy and guidelines.
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with agency partners.
• Educate agents on risk selection philosophy and pricing guidelines.
• Monitor performance metrics, including premium goals, business mix, and written-to-quoted ratios.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities to achieve company growth objectives.
• Conduct field underwriting and quoting as needed, including travel to agency locations.
• Review claims activity, loss control surveys, and inspection reports, taking appropriate action as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve policy issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Delegate tasks to assistant underwriters and processing assistants as necessary.
