About The Position

The Valley Home Store is seeking a dynamic Broker Associate I or II to join their team. This role involves helping individuals and families find homes while contributing to the community. Eagle County Government is looking to fill one position and is willing to consider applicants of all levels. The position offers career progression from Broker I to Broker II, with Broker I typically taking about 24 months to master the required skills and knowledge for promotion to Broker II.

Requirements

  • For Broker I: Two years of progressively responsible experience in administration, real estate, customer service, hospitality, marketing or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • For Broker II: 12 successful (closed) transactions, led by broker with a co-listing agent, with deed-restricted properties in Eagle County or equivalent experience.
  • For Broker II: 24 months of mentorship with another, higher-level broker, as a mentor and supervisor.
  • For Broker II: Two or more years of relevant and progressively responsible experience in the housing department or equivalent real estate experience.
  • Licensed as a Realtor through the Colorado Real Estate Commission or ability to obtain within the first six months (for Broker I).
  • Licensed through the Colorado Real Estate Commission or has a license from another state that could be transferred to Colorado (for Broker II).
  • Member of the Vail Board of Realtors and the National Board of Realtors, or the ability to join organizations shortly after employment.
  • This position may need to occasionally travel to various locations throughout the Eagle River Valley and Roaring Fork Valley to support the housing team, attend and participate in housing-related activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in residential real estate is preferred (for both Broker I and Broker II).
  • Valid Driver’s license preferred but not required (for both Broker I and Broker II).

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and aspirations.
  • Master the Eagle County Housing Programs, including deed-restricted programs, Valley Home Store programs, down payment assistance, and housing programs.
  • Champion affordable housing initiatives that create opportunities for homeownership and rental assistance.
  • Find creative solutions to housing challenges, including financial hurdles and streamlining processes.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team committed to making a positive impact.
