About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Broiler Production Manager to ensure the highest quality bird production for our plant while maintaining cost efficiency and a motivated workforce. This role involves scheduling birds for processing based on weight requirements, communicating with growers, advising on management practices, and monitoring feeding and health programs for broilers. Key responsibilities include planning vaccination schedules, monitoring cost reports and plant production data, and collaborating with accounting to ensure accurate broiler settlements. The role also involves weekly meetings with broiler technical advisors, coordinating with equipment companies for efficient layout, and other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., creating MS Excel worksheets, Word documents, checking electronic mail).
  • 1 to 5 trips per year.
  • Responsible for supervising a team within a single department, ensuring tasks and activities are performed efficiently.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered, required to sign a Bio-security agreement to avoid any non-commercial avian species examples: chickens, ducks, birds, parakeets, parrots, etc.
  • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule birds for processing according to plant needs and weight requirements.
  • Communicate with growers and provide advice on management practices.
  • Monitor feeding and health programs for broilers.
  • Plan and boost vaccination schedules for birds.
  • Monitor and compare cost reports and plant production data to previous weeks' performance.
  • Collaborate with accounting personnel to ensure accuracy of broiler settlements.
  • Meet with and encourage broiler technical advisors weekly.
  • Work directly with equipment companies to ensure efficient equipment layout.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
