About The Position

Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Services for the Performing Arts Center, this position will assist in the creation and delivery of radio and television production for our campus athletics programs as well as special events that happen in our athletic venues. This is a full-time 1-year temporary position and is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, vision and CalPERS retirement.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of television and radio engineering practices, methods, and current trends, including frequency allocation, electromagnetic wave propagation, and radio signal strength measurements and tolerances.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital and analog electronics theory and troubleshooting, and of audio/visual systems.
  • Working knowledge of cable, fiber, microwave networks, and satellite systems, including the underlying theories and principles.
  • Associate's degree (or equivalent) in a related field and equivalent to three years of progressively responsible experience as an audiovisual engineer, including all phases of operation and maintenance of television facilities and broadcast studios.
  • Two years of related technical training may be substituted for the required education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of radio and television production for campus athletics programs and special events.
  • Plan, lay out, operate, and maintain television and radio broadcasting facilities.
  • Train, instruct, and provide direction to student assistants and other technical staff.
  • Demonstrate customer service requiring a high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
