About The Position

KLAS 8 News Now, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada, is actively recruiting for a Broadcast Director. This shift will be consistent with our AM team but will also require flexibility to be on call as needed by the News department. The Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years’ experience in News operations and Production (market size considered)
• Proficiency with computers and broadcast control equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and be able to multi-task

Nice To Haves

• Ignite automation experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Direct and/or technically direct newscasts
• Coordinates technical control and production of programs
• Ensures quality standards are met
• Works with the news Producers to deliver a clean visually impactful newscast
• May also perform the following duties: Audio operations for daily newscasts, Live operations (tunes satellites, microwaves, and other live feeds from field), Editing with Adobe Premiere editing software, Teleprompting for daily newscasts
