About The Position
WSOC TV Charlotte is looking for a Broadcast Director who can direct newscasts in a fast-paced, live television environment and be able to oversee all technical aspects of a live broadcast. The applicant must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate clearly with staff and news management.
Requirements
- Previous broadcast news experience with knowledge of audio mixing, camera operation, video editing and studio lighting
- Ability to sit and operate equipment, staying mentally focused, for hours at a time
- A desire to work in broadcast news production

Responsibilities
- Direct live broadcasts using Grass Valley Ignite Automation System
- Be responsible for all production aspects of broadcasts
- Effectively direct taped segments in a timely manner
- PA duties such as Vinten Robotic cameras and teleprompter
- Studio mics and lighting
- Non-linear editing on Avid platform
- Troubleshoot problems with technical knowledge of systems
- Attention to detail
- Be cooperative, communicative and lead by example
