About The Position

Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc., is seeking an experienced Broadband Plant Engineer to support the planning and construction of our growing broadband (fiber) network. This is a great opportunity to work on large‑scale fiber projects in a collaborative, utility‑focused environment. In this role, you'll design outside plant (OSP) fiber infrastructure, including routing, splicing plans, and equipment placement. Bartlett Electric Cooperative has been in operation since 1936, and we are proud to be the first REA project energized in Texas and the nation. Requirements

Position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years' directly related experience

Responsibilities

Design outside plant (OSP) fiber infrastructure, including routing, splicing plans, and equipment placement
Prepare staking sheets, construction drawings, and documentation using GIS tools
Develop material lists, cost estimates, and timelines
Coordinate permitting (ROW, easements, road crossings)
Work with construction crews and contractors to ensure quality and compliance
Perform field staking and maintain accurate fiber records
