About The Position

MGK has 100+ years' of experience focusing on sustainable & environmentally conscious ways to protect families and crops from pests around the world, using our synthetic and certified organic, botanically based pesticide products. General Description: The primary purpose of the Plant Engineer position is to provide sound engineering direction for supporting both production and maintenance operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. The position provides technical and business leadership in the overall guidance and project management required to support more technical positions in the completion of integrative tasks, and to communicate the progress of infrastructure projects to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical focused preferred) with 5+ year work experience required
  • 2+ year in Project/Construction Management, preferred accredited certification
  • 2+ year experience in a regulated (i.e. EPA, FDA,) environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and Engineering Design software (ACAD, Solidworks)

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of lean thinking, six sigma or other continuous improvement methodology preferred
  • Working knowledge of process validation techniques: statistical process control (SPC), change control in QMS, design organizational approval preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages and owns project(s) and equipment capital plan and budget with support from Maintenance and Facilities Managers and Operations Production Manager with final recommendations and approval from the Director of Engineering & Facilities on the use of capital assets, equipment, modifications, and process improvements
  • Oversees capital equipment purchasing and third-party facility vendors’ work by preparing bid sheets and contract specifications, installation and commissioning including IQ/PQ/OQ qualifying
  • Collaborates with cross-functional groups including Maintenance, Production, R/D, Human Resources, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Finance to meet production targets.
  • Manages and oversees third party contractors to complete onsite work safely and correctly.
  • Develops internal processes, SOPs, work instruction, and training while implementing productivity improvements.
  • Provides reliability engineering expertise that supports our maintenance and reliability efforts and assures asset life at or beyond the standards.
  • Ensures required licenses and permits are obtained and maintained (air, water, fire, etc.)
  • Oversees installation, modifications, quality control testing, operating procedure, and inspection processes adhering to engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned by management.
