About The Position

A Day in the Life of the Broadband Network Technician I, II or III: Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference. Prepare and perform emergency aerial and/or underground coaxial cable restoration due to variables such as cable breaks and/or damage Perform preventative maintenance (power supply, actives) in the form of testing, balancing, alignment and adjustments of components or equipment Monitor, record and repair cable leakage, complying with applicable regulations Observe and assist co-workers with fiber splicing activities Complete and distribute required documentation, such as work orders and daily logs Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years (telecom technician)
  • Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver's license

  • Work performed in both climate‑controlled and non‑climate‑controlled environments, with potential exposure to heat, cold, dust, damp conditions, uneven surfaces, heights, and moving vehicles.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, and driving required.
  • Ability to safely climb and work from ladders for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs and ladders, and using hands above and below shoulder level.
  • Ability to bend, twist, kneel, squat, crawl, and maintain various body positions and perform fine motor tasks, forceful gripping, and limited keyboarding.
