As a Broadband Facility Technician II, you’ll be the hands-on expert responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing critical headend and network equipment. You’ll ensure seamless operation of systems like satellite receivers, modulators, encoders, QAMs, fiber optics, and power supplies—keeping our broadband infrastructure reliable and running smoothly for continuous service delivery.

  • Associate degree in electronics or Electrical engineering or Technology or equivalent
  • 2-year experience as a bench technician for telecommunication or equivalent
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, rates, and simple formulas.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
  • Ability to converse professionally and with empathy with an emphasis on owning and solving issues whilst building excellent rapport.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all essential duties and responsibilities of a Broadband Facility Technician II.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains all HFC headend equipment including satellite receivers, modulators, audio/video switchers, microwave transmitters and receivers, encoders, QAM players, tuners, Fiber optics, and AC/DC power systems in a neat and organized manner.
  • Installs, configures, repairs, and maintains the nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) for CATV systems.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains satellite dish antennas.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of HFC systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Analyses electronic and electrical circuit designs and performs troubleshooting and repair.
  • Understands and educates customers on proper use of customer premises equipment such as digital boxes, high-speed internet modems, and VoIP devices.
  • Monitors, documents, and repairs CATV leakage; creates CLI leak reports as required.
  • Ensures quality forward and return signals from Headend to plant.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all active and in-stock HFC equipment.
  • Attends executive meetings and provides accurate, detailed reports.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains critical facility systems including power, HVAC, fire suppression, environmental monitoring, and security/surveillance systems.
  • Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Assists with general office support, including supply and materials ordering.
  • Maintains accurate service, repair, and maintenance records.
  • Performs general and detailed cleaning of interior and exterior spaces as needed.
  • Works independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Follows established critical facilities work request systems.
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Leads assigned crews when necessary.
  • Adheres to OSHA, NEC, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures quality service across all critical facility-related tasks.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of company-issued tools and equipment.
  • Meets deadlines and responds to emergency calls as required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
