Requirements

  • Strong foundation in fiber to the home/premise networks (FTTX).
  • Proficiency in implementing, managing, and monitoring local and wide area networks, as well as wireless networks.
  • Familiarity with network diagnostic tools and broadband ISP networks.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with robust problem-solving skills.
  • Adept in using job-related networking and diagnostic equipment, including OTDRs, VFLs, and power meters.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, GIS, and Adobe.
  • Ability to read and interpret GIS maps and construction schematics.
  • Customer-centric attitude and professional appearance.
  • Must be knowledgeable on the practices and principles of fiber to the home/premise networks (FTTX).
  • Knowledge of implementing, managing, and monitoring local, and wide area networks.
  • Knowledge of implementing, managing, and monitoring wireless networks.
  • Knowledge of network diagnostic tools and in broadband ISP networks.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing tasks/projects.

  • Must be customer-service oriented always have a customer friendly attitude and professional appearance.
  • Skill in effectively using job related networking equipment and diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficient with OTDRs, VFL, sand power meters.
  • Read/interpret GIS maps and construction schematics.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Must pass a thorough criminal background check due to the sensitivity of the information handled by this position.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting underground infrastructure such as conduits, hand holes, and vaults for defects, implementing repairs, and using standardized checklists for reporting.
  • Conducting fusion splicing with minimal loss.
  • Interpreting construction blueprints to ensure accurate cable routing.
  • Overseeing subcontractors to maintain compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
  • Conducting pre-construction audits.
  • Conducting quality control tests post-installation.
  • Ensuring adherence to TxDOT and OSHA safety standards.
  • Thorough documentation and reporting, including the use of metadata for work phase photography and the generation of daily reports.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Participating in development reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with data security regulations.
  • Contributing to the growth of Pharr’s broadband infrastructure.
