About The Position
Sign Solutions is seeking RSLI BSL Interpreters to join their video team on a contracted full-time or part-time/job share basis. This role involves working out-of-hours, Monday to Friday, from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The interpreter will work with a diverse range of corporate clients in both the private and public sectors, as well as individual Deaf clients. The primary function is to provide British Sign Language (BSL) video interpretation for both pre-booked and on-demand remote video interpretation sessions. Sign Solutions, founded in 1998, is dedicated to providing interpreting and translation services to the Deaf community across the UK, aiming to combat inequality and break down communication barriers. Their mission is to 'enable people of different languages, cultures and communities to talk to each other' through non-spoken services. The company offers a variety of services including face-to-face and pre-booked video interpreting, Deaf Awareness Training, Access to Work support, BSL translations, and their on-demand video interpreting platform, InterpretersLive!.
Requirements
- NRCPD registration
- RSLI status
- Enhanced DBS
- UK resident
- Permission to work in the UK
Responsibilities
- To undertake on-demand and pre-booked video interpreting assignments
- To deliver high quality BSL/English interpreting services to all clients
- To report to Head Interpreter and Operations Team
- To maintain CPD
- To abide by NRCPD code of conduct
- To work flexibly within the video interpreting team
