About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Department Manager to lead their Bridges & Structures team in Ohio. Candidates may be located anywhere in Ohio. The bridge experts partner with clients to understand project objectives and formulate solutions that are safe, efficient, economical, and sensitive to the environment. This highly skilled team offers a full range of bridge services from scoping, planning, and preliminary engineering through final design, for small to large scale bridges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in bridge engineering is required.
  • 7+ years of experience with preparing proposals, developing budgets, tracking budgets and the associated financial management skills necessary to run a team and monitor the performance of the business.
  • Ohio PE license is required (or through reciprocity).
  • Knowledgeable in best practices, trends, and other influences that affect CED and the environment in which we work, to maintain our position as an industry leader.
  • Possess and demonstrate the ability to lead effectively and efficiently, plan, organize and manage procedures, protocols, and staff to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties in support of the direction and vision of the overall discipline for their assigned geographic location.
  • Collaborate with other Department Managers within the region and with the Regional Discipline Leader.
  • Active involvement with marketing and business development.
  • Monitors work backlog and the sharing of work within the region and discipline.
  • Actively involved in the cross selling of all company services.
  • Serve as a resource for project managers and staff on assigned projects and manage completion of projects regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Provide staff/managers with technical assistance and supervision in the preparation of proposals and contracts for assigned projects.
  • New business development and management/maintenance of existing clients.
  • Assist in the development of the annual business plan for the discipline.
  • Manage the financial aspects of assigned team(s) and monitor the performance of the business to meet or exceed revenue and/or profit goals.
