Requirements

Associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures
Successful completion of the NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Course (FHWAA-NHI-130055)
Experience writing inspection reports
Proficiency in bridge inspection software and tools
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
Pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

Performing condition inspections and evaluations of various highway structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, etc.
Preparing inspection reports following MDOT SHA's requirements and guidelines.
Performing structural and load rating analysis based on as-built drawings and current conditions.
