The Bridge Inspection Team Leader will be responsible for conducting NBIS inspections of in-service transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and traffic device support structures. The Bridge Inspection Team Leader will receive general supervision from the Project Manager and will be required to perform the duties of an inspection team leader. Duties of the position include planning and scheduling inspections, performing inspections, and preparing inspection reports. In addition to bridge inspection, this position will also include responsibility for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision.

Requirements

Experience in serving as Team Leader performing in-service bridge safety inspections
Ability to work on multiple project assignments in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
Experience in using Microsoft Office software including WORD and EXCEL

Responsibilities

Serving as Team Leader performing in-service bridge safety inspections
Planning and scheduling inspections
Performing inspections
Preparing inspection reports
Performing engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices
Interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments with limited supervision
Planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
Performing or checking design computations
Designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
Assisting in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
Preparing and compiling contract plans, specifications and estimates
Attending meetings with clients and assisting in taking meeting minutes
Coordinating with other disciplines and understanding how they fit into the project and design
Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan
Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department
Performing other related duties as assigned
