About The Position

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers is seeking a GED Instructor to manage a classroom effectively and enhance student learning. The instructor will be responsible for teaching all GED test areas, including reading and language arts, writing, social studies, science, and math. The role involves implementing various instructional methods, planning lessons and curriculum for diverse learners, and creating a supportive learning environment. The instructor will also monitor student performance, administer assessments to track progress, and teach skills to improve academic performance and test-taking strategies.

Requirements

Level of knowledge normally gained through completion of an undergraduate degree
Minimum 3 years of work-related experience
Ability to use a variety of audio-visual equipment

Responsibilities

Implement various instructional delivery methods that include group or individualized instruction and computer programs
Plan lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skilled students
Create a climate that encourages and supports learning
Plan and prepare relevant and practical class lessons and monitor students’ performance
Administer post-TABE and practice tests to identify level gains, individual progress, and areas of improvement
Responsible for teaching the GED test areas (reading and language arts, writing, social studies, science, and math)
Teach skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions
