About The Position

At HNTB, the Bridge Engineer II assists with producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. The role performs research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with project teams, applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria to projects of varying size and complexity. The engineer uses technical knowledge to support the execution and evaluation of project designs and develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. As part of the team, the position contributes to successful delivery of a diverse range of client projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Proficiency applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, or other software required for assignments.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work within the provided schedule and number of hours.
• Prepare and/or modify selected portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
• Develop project quantities and assist with cost estimates.
• Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
• Independently complete tasks such as research, data collection, field investigations, project development, and design.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
