About The Position

Join our nationally recognized team of bridge professionals and build a strong foundation in structural engineering while working on diverse infrastructure projects that range from local rehabilitation assignments to major river crossings across the country. As a Bridge Engineer, you'll develop expertise in both design and field inspection while working alongside experienced mentors who are invested in your professional growth. This role offers hands-on exposure to structural analysis, construction plan preparation, and optional bridge inspection work, including specialized rope access techniques, giving you comprehensive experience across the full bridge project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) certification required
  • 2 – 4 years of related bridge design, structural engineering, or civil engineering experience
  • Foundational understanding of engineering principles and eagerness to apply them
  • Willingness to learn structural analysis software and advanced design tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software experience required
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • MicroStation experience preferred
  • Exposure to steel and/or concrete design preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare construction plans for bridge design and rehabilitation projects
  • Analyze and design routine and complex structures including steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridges
  • Conduct plan reviews, shop drawing reviews, and open channel hydraulic analysis
  • Apply thorough understanding of structural engineering principles to solve challenging design problems
  • Opportunity to train in bridge field inspection techniques and procedures
  • Learn specialized rope access methods for inspecting hard-to-reach structural elements
  • Gain hands-on experience assessing bridge conditions and documenting findings
