About The Position

Benesch is hiring an intern to support its Bridge and Structural Engineering teams in delivering transportation solutions. The intern will assist with conventional and complex bridge and structure design, load ratings, and bridge inspections, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis, and field tasks while learning from experienced engineers. The internship is based in Benesch’s Glastonbury, Connecticut office, with opportunities to collaborate on active projects and receive mentorship from Project Engineers and Project Managers.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with a focus on structures.
• Strong interest in bridge and structural engineering.
• Excellent analytical, technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Application of AASHTO/ASTM and DOT/Agency standards and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• A master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or plans to obtain one within two years.
