About The Position

Seeking an experienced bridal seamstress for custom fittings and alterations. This independent contractor role involves working one-on-one with brides throughout the entire alteration process, from initial fittings to final adjustments. Bookings are provided through our platform, allowing you to set your own schedule and rates within guidelines. You will conduct first, second, and final fittings, customize gowns by hemming, adjusting side seams, shaping bodices, and modifying necklines and sleeves. Additionally, you will create custom bustles, handle alterations for bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and other ceremony attire. A key part of the role is guiding brides on alteration possibilities, timelines, and expectations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed)
• Confidence working with high-value gowns and the patience to fit them properly
• Strong customer-facing presence — brides remember the seamstress who calmed their nerves
• Reliable workspace with adequate space for fitting and steaming

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns
• Customize gowns for each bride: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications
• Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference
• Handle bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire alongside the main gown
• Walk brides through what is possible with their dress, what timelines look like, and what to expect on the day
