About The Position
Seeking an experienced bridal seamstress for an independent contractor role focused on custom fittings and alterations for wedding gowns. This position involves working one-on-one with brides throughout the entire alteration process, from initial fittings to final adjustments. Bookings will be provided through an online platform, connecting local brides with skilled seamstresses in their area.
Requirements
- Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed).
- Confidence working with high-value gowns and patience for proper fitting.
- Strong customer-facing presence.
- Reliable workspace with adequate space for fitting and steaming.
Responsibilities
- Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
- Customize gowns for each bride, including hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, and sleeve modifications.
- Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference.
- Handle alterations for bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire in addition to the main wedding gown.
- Communicate with brides about possible dress modifications, timelines, and expectations for their wedding day.
