About The Position

Bricklayers are responsible for analyzing and interpreting plans, interpreting work orders to determine required materials, and calculating angles to ensure proper alignment. They lay bricks using mortar as a binder and a trowel for leveling, and fasten bricks with wire clamps or cement. Safety is paramount, especially when working on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights. Bricklayers must also effectively use equipment and tools to perform basic construction tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience on a construction site
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
  • Ability to visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
  • Ability to make decisions based on measurable criteria
  • Ability to work at heights without fear
