About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds, ensuring their proper care and comfort.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 1 plus year of experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• 1 to 5 trips per year.
• Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.

Responsibilities

• Advise producers regarding building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
• Conduct farm visits to document bird comfort, manage the flock and equipment settings.
• Direct feed and light schedules, monitor bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation, and provide remedies when possible.
• Monitor feed consumption, pull blood and fat samples on time when required.
• Coordinate bird placements to the farms, assist with catch schedules, and ensure communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live haul as it pertains to their contract farms.
• Ensure both producer and company are in compliance with the production contract to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost due to good performance.
• Ensure all USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry.
