About The Position

City of Hope Medical Group is seeking an experienced, full-time Academic Breast Pathologist with expertise in breast cancer to join the clinical faculty at the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in Irvine, California. This role is part of an expanding focus on breast cancer and support of the Center for Precision Medicine. The ideal candidate will be highly qualified, board-certified, and contribute to the growing needs of the Division of Anatomic Pathology. In addition to diagnostic pathology, responsibilities include educating residents and fellows and developing a successful academic track record. The department offers significant opportunities for clinical/translational and basic research. The position involves providing patient-centered anatomic pathology services in collaboration with a diverse team of oncologic physicians across City of Hope's national network, utilizing digital pathology for breast pathology expertise, and developing translational and clinical research in breast cancers. The role also includes participating in the training of fellows in ACGME-accredited programs.

Requirements

MD or equivalent medical degree.
Possess or be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license.
Board certification in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent.
Demonstrated multidisciplinary practice experience in the specialty of breast pathology.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in collaboration with breast medical and surgical oncologists and researchers.
Evidence of research and publication productivity.

Nice To Haves

Fellowship training in breast pathology.
Experience in the diagnosis of complex breast cancers in an academic cancer center.
Specialty expertise in pathology specialties in addition to breast pathology, especially gynecologic pathology, cytopathology.
Medical license in Arizona, Illinois, or Georgia.
Academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor.
