About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Breakfast / Evening Server is to set up and maintain the dining area. He or she is responsible for making guests feel welcome, comfortable and well attended to at all times. The Breakfast / Evening Server may be responsible for serving guests Beverages, clearing tables and maintaining storage areas for meal supplies.

Work Environment – Ability to work: With various pieces of equipment such as a touch screen monitor, printer, cash register, credit card authorization machines, carpet sweeper/vacuum, broom, various beverage dispensing machines and other dining room equipment

Long hours sometimes required

Maintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, as defined in the hotel handbook, when working
Comply at all times hotel’s policies and procedures to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
Positively interact with hotel guests

Responsibilities

Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
Complete all sidework and cleaning duties as described in the hotel’s policies and procedures.
Have full knowledge of entire menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc
Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
Participate in department meetings
Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his or her attention
Ensure compliance with all local health & sanitation regulations
Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures
Ensure that all side work is completed before leaving property
Be up to date on all guest services, promotions and events in the Hotel
Attend department and hotel meetings
Other duties as assigned
