About The Position

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable breakfast experience by preparing, presenting, and maintaining the hotel's complimentary breakfast service. This position ensures the breakfast area remains clean, fully stocked, and organized while providing exceptional guest service that reflects the hotel's standards of hospitality. The Breakfast Attendant plays an important role in creating a positive first impression each morning by delivering prompt, friendly, and attentive service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the breakfast buffet before service begins, ensuring all food and beverage items are fresh, properly displayed, and presented according to hotel standards.
  • Greet guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Monitor the breakfast area throughout service, replenishing food, beverages, utensils, plates, cups, condiments, and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure all food is maintained at appropriate temperatures and handled in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the breakfast area, including tables, chairs, countertops, beverage stations, serving equipment, and floors.
  • Remove used dishes, wipe tables, and keep the dining area clean and inviting throughout service.
  • Prepare coffee, juice, and other beverages while ensuring beverage stations remain stocked.
  • Properly rotate food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and beverage deliveries.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, serving utensils, food preparation areas, and storage areas following breakfast service.
  • Properly dispose of trash and recycling and maintain cleanliness of back-of-house areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies require replenishment.
  • Follow all local health department regulations and hotel food safety procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards immediately.
  • Assist other departments when operational needs require additional support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Deliver exceptional service by anticipating guest needs and responding promptly to requests.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to enjoy their breakfast experience.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while interacting with guests and fellow associates.
