About The Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Breakfast Attendant - Springhill Suites & Element Colorado Springs, CO. The purpose of this role is to greet and seat all guests, ensuring a quality dining experience through warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance. The attendant will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food according to standard recipes for the bistro and banquet rooms, greet guests with a smile and positive attitude, and prepare and present items while maintaining a clean service area and adhering to all health codes. The role requires ensuring guests are dealt with professionally, handling difficult situations diplomatically, and ensuring all food selections are available daily and hours of operation are strictly adhered to. Additionally, the attendant will monitor and inspect food & beverage deliveries, ensure portion controls are met, provide a safe working environment by complying with safety programs and Health Department requirements, and maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards. Inspections of food and beverage outlets for proper storage, neatness, cleanliness, side-work, and inventory rotation are also key. The role involves assisting with daily/weekly/monthly food and beverage inventories and being an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive team member who is professional, responsible, and mature in conduct and behavior. Open communication with co-workers and other departments, responding positively to new ideas, and accepting feedback are essential. The attendant must be available to help other departments in emergency situations and perform other assignments as directed by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze date, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
  • Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.
  • Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
  • Be knowledgeable about state regulations regarding health policies.
  • Food handler's permit if required by state law.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain Alcohol Awareness training, if required by state law and/or by the brand standard.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
  • Inspect food and beverage outlets for proper storage, neatness, cleanliness, side-work and rotation of inventory.
  • Assist with daily/weekly/monthly food and beverage inventories.
  • Be an enthusiastic, helpful and positive member of the team.
  • Be professional, responsible and mature in conduct and behavior.
  • Be understanding of, encouraging to and friendly with all co-workers.
