About The Position

This role is a great opportunity for experienced automotive mechanics, maintenance technicians, or mechanically inclined professionals who want to expand their skills into the electrical industry. As a Breaker Technician, you will support the assembly, maintenance, testing, and repair of circuit breakers and electrical distribution equipment. You will work with electrical and mechanical components, drawings, hand tools, power tools, and test equipment while developing specialized skills within the electrical power industry.

Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly
Ability to read and interpret simple drawings, diagrams, product charts, and technical instructions
Ability to learn to read electrical and mechanical blueprints
General maintenance knowledge, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, woodworking, or welding
Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools
Willingness and ability to learn machining, painting, electrical troubleshooting, and other technical skills
Strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and established work procedures
Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Automotive mechanic, industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical assembly, or similar hands-on experience preferred
Previous electrical industry experience is helpful but not required
Candidates with strong automotive or mechanical backgrounds who are interested in transitioning into the electrical industry are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

Assemble and install electrical and mechanical components according to blueprints, diagrams, wire lists, and established procedures
Prepare components for assembly, including cleaning parts, cutting wire, wiring, and fastening terminal connections
Review job files and documentation to ensure required paperwork is complete and accurate
Use raw materials and components to assist with the assembly of finished products
Follow assembly instructions and established procedures to ensure equipment is assembled correctly
Use hand and power tools including wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, socket drivers, pliers, and soldering equipment
Use electrical test equipment as needed and accurately document test results
Maintain tools and equipment in proper operating condition and calibration
Assist with general facility maintenance involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, woodworking, welding, and related tasks
Develop skills in machining, spray-booth painting, electrical troubleshooting, and other technical repair activities
Assist with loading and unloading vehicles using forklifts or pallet jacks
Participate in corrective and preventive action processes
Identify problems and communicate recommended corrective actions to management
Follow all safety procedures and workplace requirements
Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental goals
