About The Position

The Breaker Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on egg-breaking equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime at Hickmans Egg Ranch. This role requires technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. The Breaker Maintenance Technician works closely with the production team to maintain equipment reliability and support efficient production processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and record-keeping.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with production and maintenance teams.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for working with machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on egg-breaking machines to ensure efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with breaker equipment and perform repairs as needed.
  • Adjust, calibrate, and test breaker machines to maintain proper functioning and consistent product quality.
  • Replace parts, such as belts, motors, sensors, and electrical components, according to equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with the production team to coordinate maintenance schedules, minimizing impact on operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including inspections, repairs, and parts used, to support preventive maintenance planning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for equipment optimization and efficiency.
  • Assist in training production staff on the proper use and basic troubleshooting of breaker equipment.
  • Perform other maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
