About The Position

Bread for Life: Career Connect is a paid work/study opportunity for Athens-area youth ages 16 to 21 to earn while they learn. With guidance from industry professionals, you'll explore careers in sports & entertainment event planning, hospitality marketing, sales, food & beverage, and tourism. You'll gain real-world experience in a supportive environment at The Classic Center. Those selected to interview will be notified soon, so look for an email with instructions on how to schedule time to meet with our selection committee.

Requirements

  • Motivated young adults (ages 16–21)
  • Ready to take their first step into the workforce with energy, curiosity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Upload a resume and/or a short cover letter.
  • Include details about your school involvement, volunteer work, or any experience that shows who you are.
  • A thoughtful one-page cover letter in addition to OR in place of your resume will make you a standout among other applicants.
  • Choose one of the provided cover letter questions for your submission.
  • Successfully pass a drug screen and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Get hands-on training and build entry-level skills in frontline roles like Event Setup, Housekeeping, Parking, Guest Services, and Banquet Services.
