JOB TITLE: Branding Iron Staff Writer, Student Media JOB PURPOSE: Provide news, feature or sports stories to newspaper for publication in print and/or online editions.

Requirements

• Full-time student
• Access to personal transportation
• Newspaper experience, including writing news stories.
• Must be available for publication deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.
• Must be available Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for training.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of AP and BI stylebooks
• Knowledge of basic journalistic style and how to write newspaper articles.

Responsibilities

• Produce at least three stories per week.
• Pick up assignments from section editor.
• Meet with section editor regularly.
• Create story ideas for consideration of section editor.
• Other duties as assigned.
