About The Position

Petual is hiring its first marketing-team designer to build and steward the company’s visual identity from its first substantial version onward. The role will establish and refine the identity system—including typography, color, grids, iconography, illustration, photography direction, and motion—and document it in guidelines and a shared library that others can use independently. The work centers on making complex, technical products look calm, clear, and considered for an audience of auditors, for whom trust and careful presentation matter. The designer will lead creative for product launches, announcements, and paid campaigns; design the company website and subsequent pages with the growth lead; create event booths and materials; and produce sales decks, one-pagers, customer stories, and product visuals. They will art-direct product demos and brand films, develop scalable templates and AI-assisted workflows, and maintain the quality of all visual work leaving the company. The role collaborates closely with the product designer, who owns product UI, so product and brand feel cohesive. Petual is an early-stage company whose marketing function is being built by its first hires. The role offers substantial ownership and latitude to shape the brand and establish new practices. The team works in person in San Francisco.
