About The Position

The Branch Training, Fleet, and Compliance Manager will create a safer workplace through individualized training, collaboration, processes, and procedures. Promote a culture of safety and accountability through training and action, starting on day one of new team members’ tenure.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CT Supervisory Licensing in Category 7A, 7D, with 7B preferred.
  • MA Cat 41 License.
  • Must possess very strong decision-making ability, be able to successfully think through complex situations to reach the best decision and must be able to adapt at “thinking outside the box”.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate without managerial authority.
  • Must have very strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
  • Must be extremely dependable, honest and have excellent work ethic.
  • Must be detail and quality oriented.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft products (Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to work in a team-based office environment.

  • Previous training and management experience preferred.
  • Previous HR or safety officer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a minimum of 10 team member spot check safety evaluations monthly, including vehicle organization, GPS and Roscoe camera activity checks for compliance with safe driving policies, and a report of findings.
  • Ensure all GPS and Roscoe devices are functioning properly and the branch is compliant with the company's 98% functionality goal.
  • Ensure all company and SP licenses are updated in PestPac to maintain compliance with DEEP and MDAR.
  • Spot check 15 vehicles each month to ensure all vehicles have insurance forms, vehicle registrations, fire extinguishers, spill kits and accident SOPs.
  • Investigate any incidents involving SP injury and report as to how it could have been prevented.
  • Train all new hires and be their point of contact for their first 30-45 days, including prepping for state pesticide exams, teaching company SOPs, and educating on branch policies and protocols.
  • Write and update Hartford’s CT supervisory instructions and ensure SPs are remaining compliant.
  • Ensure all vehicle maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner and track oil change intervals for SP compliance.
  • Work with the Branch Manager (BM) to maintain roster compliance with DEEP via the ELicense portal.
  • Inspect equipment at the office and on trucks to ensure it's properly working and does not pose a hazard.
  • Ensure all team members complete annual training requirements.
  • Complete annual ladder, PPE, and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Ensure all vehicles have completed state inspections, oil changes, emissions, and comply with all regulations.
  • Work with the Modern fleet manager to correct vehicle registration issues.
  • Review and update branch procedures and SOPs based on incident findings, new best practices, and changes in state regulation.
  • Work with Modern’s training team to create new SOPs and procedures when new products and services are rolled out.
  • Plan and conduct supervisory license training in the winter each year.
  • Assist with the integration of acquisition employees and help ensure a smooth transition to Modern.
  • Put together periodic 30–60-minute trainings on branch management approved topics for both newer and more tenured employees outside of Spring and Fall training.
  • Work with the BM on future vehicle planning including the addition of new vehicles, sale of old vehicles, and the cancellation of expired leases.
  • Work with Modern’s Training Director, Fleet Manager, and HR to assist with the roll out of all new safety and fleet initiatives.
