Branch Operations Data Analytics Developer

U.S. BankAtlanta, GA
Hybrid

About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned Data Analytics Developer with deep expertise in business intelligence (especially Tableau), database design/optimization, and automation of data workflows. The ideal candidate is an exceptional SQL/Python programmer who can build automated ETL pipelines, craft compelling data visualizations, and translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions. This role requires a balance of strong technical skills and excellent communication – you will work closely with stakeholders to deliver insights and tell stories through data in visually engaging ways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to seven years of statistical and/or data analytics experience
  • Proven experience developing BI solutions, particularly with Tableau (creating complex dashboards, managing Tableau Server or similar BI platforms). Able to design visuals that communicate insights effectively.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation (pandas, scripting, API integration, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working with complex data sets to derive meaningful insights.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences and to gather business requirements from stakeholders. Comfortable presenting insights and training users on analytics tools or dashboards.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with other programming or scripting (e.g., SQL, R, or shell scripting) is a plus.
  • Advanced expertise in Tableau (or similar, like Power BI), including ability to implement storytelling features, custom visuals, and performance-tuned dashboards.
  • Demonstrated project management skills or tech lead experience – ability to scope, plan, and drive projects to completion.
  • Understanding of branch operations or retail banking processes (since the role supports Branch Operations) can be beneficial. Able to align technical solutions with business objectives and identify opportunities where analytics can add value.
  • Certifications in Tableau (Desktop or Server), data engineering, or related areas are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Create interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau (and other BI tools) that are not only aesthetically polished but also highly usable. Tell a story with data by selecting the right visuals and giving context, enabling stakeholders to grasp insights and trends at a glance. Ensure dashboards follow best practices for design and user experience.
  • Work closely with business units and branch operations teams to gather requirements and translate business questions into technical specifications. Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring solutions meet real-world needs.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner – whether through dashboards, visual presentations, or written reports – to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure development best practices in code (Python, SQL, etc.) and tool usage. Contribute to data governance by documenting processes and ensuring compliance with company data standards. Provide guidance or mentorship to junior developers as needed.
  • Proactively engage with internal customers to refine requirements and iterate on solutions. Provide exceptional support and training to end-users of dashboards or data tools, improving adoption and maximizing the value derived from analytics products.

  • Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)
  • Basic term and optional term life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability
  • Pregnancy disability and parental leave
  • 401(k) and employer-funded retirement plan
  • Paid vacation (from two to five weeks depending on salary grade and tenure)
  • Up to 11 paid holiday opportunities
  • Adoption assistance
