About The Position

Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union (MSGCU) is seeking a Branch Manager to lead and manage an assigned branch for sales and operations. The goal is to ensure financial objectives, strategic goals, and institutional growth are met in accordance with MSGCU’s policies, state and federal government regulations, and in alignment with the desired member experience. Requirements

  • 4 years of related, progressively more responsible retail banking experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience required
  • Successful completion of MSGCU’s Branch Manager Trainee Program

Responsibilities

  • Focus on providing high-quality service to all members through a consistent approach to delivering the member experience that includes sales, services, member satisfaction, operational, and people management to build strong member (internal/external) relationships and deliver member-centric solutions.
  • Perform all duties related to member services responsibilities to exceed member service expectations and provide superior quality service in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Make good and timely decisions using sound rationale, available data, and relevant or important factors to ensure the overall effectiveness of the branch and that are in alignment with the organization’s focus and direction.
  • Exhibit business insight by applying knowledge and demonstrating the ability to advance the organization’s goals. Develop and execute tactical plans, including strategies, targets, and staffing to meet objectives.
  • Participate in and support Business Development efforts, activities and events, to maintain key member groups and develop new relationships.
  • Optimize branch operations by serving as subject matter expert on daily functions and long-term goals and ensuring effective use of MSGCU resources.
  • Oversee the efficiency and performance of the branch budget, security, and adherence to policies to maintain high standards of operational efficiency and performance.
  • Direct work for branch team by providing clear direction and ensuring work is aligned with organizational objectives and the desired member experience.
  • Demonstrate a systematic approach to distributing assignments and monitoring work.
  • Delegate and empower team members to make decisions within their areas of responsibility and remove obstacles to get work done.
  • Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments through regular sales meetings, coaching, and observations.
  • Utilize the SLS (Sales Leadership Strategies) to improve performance and instill these methods across branch leadership to drive results.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet strategic targets through development of an annual branch sales plan.
  • Solicit ideas and feedback from team members to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other stakeholders across the organization to improve relationships, build trust, develop teamwork and deliver high-quality member service.
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Develop talent by coaching others to build skills in order to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals through mentoring, coaching, and relevant development opportunities.
  • Build effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Engage team in sales processes and activities to achieve team and corporate goals.
  • Communicate effectively by developing and delivering various forms of communication (written, verbal, presentation), that are in alignment with MSGCU’s philosophy, mission, and values.
  • Facilitate discussions and actively listen to ensure a clear understanding of expectations, procedure updates, new products, and initiatives.
  • Manage conflict situations by effectively using Crucial Conversations skills, with a minimum of noise.
  • Drive engagement by influencing others and by creating a healthy climate where team members are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.
