About The Position

Responsible for the leadership and management of a BankWest branch location. Accountable for the achievement of sales, profitability, and growth objectives in a fully compliant manner for the assigned branch location. As the market leader, incumbent is responsible for developing a culture within the branch of a high level of quality service to our customers as well as service to our communities. Responsible to lead and manage the expansion of existing customer relationships, development of new customer relationships, and delivery of financial services. Ensure quality of service for customer relationships through every stage of sales and onboarding process. Ensure qualified referrals of the Bank, Insurance, Investment, and Title Services through defined, proactive sales efforts and a high level of quality service.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Applicable experience and/or related certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years' experience in related field.
  • Experience in working as supervisor, mentor, and coach.
  • Experience in working with agricultural and/or commercial loans.
  • Excellent credit/financial analytical skills.
  • Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.
  • Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.
  • Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
  • BankWest is a "Sales Organization" and all employees are expected to participate directly or indirectly with increasing BankWest's presence in their markets as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management, staffing, administration, and related support staff for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Selects, trains, coaches, and develops subordinates in accordance with BankWest philosophies and policies; schedules and manages staffing ensuring work completion and delivery of related customer service requirements; ensures compliance with BankWest policies, procedures and standards.
  • Accountable for the development of financial relationships through the retention and growth of existing customer relationships and continuous growth of new business. This includes both loan and deposit growth.
  • Assure the branch is utilizing the bank-wide Customer Relationship Management program and that you are administering the activity for your branch.
  • Branch Manager will support Business Development Officers and Portfolio Managers by providing expertise, training, and support in the prospecting and management of new and existing relationships.
  • Branch Manager is responsible to maintain the ability and knowledge to make decisions or recommendations on all requests for credit and handle approvals/denials within their authority.
  • The Branch Manager will also prospect, close, and service approved loans, maintaining a portfolio of their own within the branch. This includes originating, structuring, analyzing, negotiating, and administering loans within Bank Policy.
  • Monitor and manage applicable metrics and management reporting; ensuring the performance of the branches are aligned with the budget and other performance measures.
  • Responsible to monitor and manage Branch credit performance within their branch; making timely decisions and recommendations on the disposition of agricultural and commercial problem credits.
  • Work with Production, Credit, and Loan Administration to assure portfolio quality is obtained and maintained with proper documentation practices.
  • Work and coordinate with branch retail and loan administration, operations, credit, compliance, audit, information security, facilities management, and risk teams to resolve issues promptly and sustainably.
  • Accountable to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of related policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that Branch work responsibilities are performed consistently with the standardized procedure and compliance requirements of the Bank.
  • Participate in community activities and encourage appropriate employee participation in community activities and identify opportunities that strengthen both community impact and long-term relationships.
  • Act in a leadership capacity, providing relevant expertise and counsel; actively supporting work and employee development activities of the Bank.
  • Maintains relationships with professional organizations, peers at other financial institutions, and/or Bank regulatory bodies to provide input and feedback on related areas of expertise to the Management Team.
  • Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
  • Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
  • Attend and actively participate in training offered.
  • Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.
  • Supports community though active involvement
