About The Position

We are excited to announce the opportunity for a Branch Manager opportunity at 23GU in San Francisco! The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of his or her assigned Branch and/or satellite office(s) and the related field territory, with emphasis in the areas of Management of Customer Service and Operations, Human Resource Management, Sales and Marketing/Financial Performance, and Fleet Management and Maintenance. This position is salary of $70,304 plus profit-based bonus with a targeted compensation of $85,000. Requirements

  • Must be a current Assistant Manager of Group 23
  • Must have an owning 3, 6, or 12-month SQi within one point of Group Average with NO minus sign
  • Must be in good standing and not have any disciplinary action in the last 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall Branch operations, including satellites, and supervise and coordinate the efforts of the management team
  • Develop overall Branch business and operational strategy and oversee the development and maintenance of the Branch operational plan
  • Manage the efforts of Branch employees to ensure that the Branch fully performs the "Cycle of Service," evaluate the customer service performance of Branch employees, and proactively seek process improvement to ensure high quality customer service
  • Exercise reasonable cost control based on forecasts, as applicable
  • Safeguard the release of company documents and other confidential information
  • Enforce and comply with applicable laws, policies, procedures, rules, regulations and best practices
  • Take action to ensure that customer service problems are corrected
  • Use initiative, independent judgment,, discretion, and decision-making skills to perform a variety of duties and solve problems. Some examples include: approving rate deviations, approving extensions of rental tickets without deposits or where customer is delinquent, determining when to take back cars if customers are overdue, approving rentals for drivers under 25 and over 70 years of age, approving cash deposit rentals and unusual credit card and rental requests, and approving write-offs
  • Manage overall safety, security, maintenance and appearance of the Branch and its assets and ensure protection of the brand and trade dress
  • Ensure adherence to group policy regarding cash box management, timely deposits, and petty cash administration
  • Ensure the consistent application of proper underwriting practices, including auditing of tickets
  • Supervise and coordinate the efforts of the Branch management team
  • Train and develop Assistant Managers in all aspects of the Branch Manager position, including Branch operations
  • Establish and implement an overall training and development strategy for Branch employees
  • Manage, supervise, mentor, train, coach, evaluate, and develop Branch employees
  • Delegate and share functions
  • Evaluate and provide continual feedback regarding employee performance, both positive and negative; meet with personnel to monitor sales goals and overall performance
  • Conduct and/or participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of Branch employees
  • Conduct effective and timely employee reviews and oversee the review process
  • Evaluate, document and confer with the management team regarding employee performance
  • Recommend/administer sound employee counseling/discipline and actively make, participate in, and/or recommend other personnel decisions, including promotions, transfers, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues and complaints
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures and applicable laws; ensure that all Branch employees are advised of and understand all applicable company policies
  • Build consensus within the team to achieve Branch goals and motivate employees
  • Keep accurate records of employee performance and other human resources management functions
  • Prepare and implement appropriate schedules for all Branch employees; manage Branch scheduling and employee hours; audit, review, and approve timecards for all Branch employees
  • Lead the development, planning, and implementation of the Branch's overall sales and marketing strategy
  • Plan for future growth of Branch
  • Assess and analyze the competitive environment and provide appropriate reports and recommendations
  • Train, motivate and coach employees to promote and sell with appropriate phone handling skills and to increase Branch sales by facilitating the understanding of coverage, vehicle features, and benefits, as well as the use of the 4-step sales process, to promote and sell optional protection products, vehicle features and benefits, fuel options and additional equipment
  • Manage overall development, planning, and follow-through of marketing activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers in the marketplace
  • Accompany other employees on marketing visits for training purposes
  • Manage Branch collection of receivables and bad debt, including overseeing efforts to negotiate payment plans, collect difficult accounts receivables, prepare write-offs for uncollectible accounts, and recommend accounts for referral to collection
  • Supervise and train other employees regarding Branch receivables
  • Review and analyze reports, financial statements, billing, and business information
  • Develop an overall fleet strategy for the Branch
  • Plan and oversee the management and utilization of the fleet and the correct fleet mix for the Branch
  • Ensure the completion of preventative maintenance on a timely basis; adherence to deletion policy in regards to time, condition and mileage; and expedition of out of service units, body shop units, pick ups and drops
  • Perform special projects
  • Manage/maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance
  • Continuously build knowledge and skills, pursue training and development opportunities, and attend required company-sponsored training classes and meetings
