About The Position

Responsible for efficient, effective management of a full-service Branch office, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed. This includes delegating day-to-day operations to the Assistant Branch Manager to focus on making loans and business calls, and representing the bank at civic and service club functions. The role also involves ensuring the general maintenance of the Branch, including safety and security for customers and employees, performing various duties of a general Bank Officer, ensuring daily transaction balancing, assisting Tellers with balancing issues, authorizing adjustments, and ensuring ATM servicing and balancing. The Branch Manager will also respond to security alarms, participate in interviewing and hiring, and obtain thorough knowledge of Branch and lending operations to coordinate daily functioning and resolve employee and customer problems.

Requirements

  • The ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • The ability to count currency.
  • The ability to perform loan calculations.
  • The ability to proficiently operate a personal computer.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a sales and/or financial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews job performance and, when necessary, discipline of branch personnel.
  • Conducts regular meetings to keep staff informed and resolve problems.
  • Processes and approves consumer direct loans and indemnifying mortgages.
  • Achieves complete familiarity with the Bank's deposit and loan policies and guidelines.
  • Conducts business development calls to existing and potential customers.
  • Joins area service clubs and organizations and represents the Bank at functions and meetings.
  • Ensures all security procedures are strictly followed.
  • Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering regulations, bank policies, and procedures.
  • Conducts weekly staff meetings for training and coaching employees to direct their job performance toward attainment of established goals.
  • Responsible for the general maintenance of the Branch, including making sure the walkways are clear of ice and snow for the safety and security of customers and employees.
  • Performs various duties of a general Bank Officer.
  • Ensures the Branch balances all transactions at the close of each business day.
  • Helps Tellers resolve balancing problems and authorizes over/short adjustments.
  • Ensures the automated teller machines are serviced and operational during business hours and are balanced each day.
  • Will be required to respond to security alarms.
  • Will participate in interviewing and hiring the best qualified employees.
  • Obtains a thorough knowledge of the Branch and lending operations to coordinate the daily functioning of the Branch/lending duties and to resolve the employee and customer problems.
