Requirements

Previous experience in operations management, preferably in the lumber or building materials industry.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
Sales experience or a willingness to learn and assist with sales efforts, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Operations Manager and lead all aspects of the lumber distribution yard's operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics.
Develop and implement efficient operational processes to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff.
Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential customers and market opportunities.
Assist sales team with generating sales leads and following up on inquiries from prospective clients.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Recruit, train, and supervise employees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Set performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with procurement team to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure that all inventory meets established standards.
