About The Position

Under the general direction of the AVP of Retail Branches, the Branch Manager is responsible for the planning and direction of all branch activities. Maintains and leads a highly motivated team that consistently exceeds member expectations by properly matching the full range of Credit Union products and services with an informed understanding of the members’ needs. Inspires team to acquire, expand, and retain member relationships while maximizing team performance to ensure the achievement of the strategic goals of the branch and our organizational goals. Rely on their extensive financial services experience and judgment to ensure congruence across the board. Provides frequent coaching and sales leadership to the branch staff and promotes a positive image of the Credit Union inside and outside the workplace. A Strong business acumen. Perform a variety of tasks and supervise other employees with little or no direct supervision from a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of financial institution experience in branch operations and management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of member/customer service experience, 3+ years in financial services.
  • Strong track record of effectively supervising and leading a medium size group of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members.
  • Possesses an advanced knowledge of branch operations and can serve in all aspects of the Retail Branch Environment.
  • Fully complies with all SRP Credit Union policies, procedures, guidelines, and service standards, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
  • Apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving to meet the needs of members and employees.
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the branch.
  • Provides leadership to all direct reports ensuring that our members receive the highest quality service while maintaining branch efficiency according to established procedures.
  • Responsible for selection/hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, scheduling, counseling, disciplining, performance evaluation, and termination of employees under his/her supervision.
  • Responsible for the branch achieving annual performance goals set by Senior Management.
  • Performs in any capacity to assist members, when needed.
  • Provides proactive service and sales leadership to all staff, motivating them to effectively uncover members’ needs and offer product benefits that improve the members’ financial life.
  • Strategically meets or exceeds all sales and service goals and expectations set by upper management for the entire branch and individually.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all branch audits receive a rating of Satisfactory or above.
  • Takes charge of self-development and development of all direct reports.
  • Responsible for onboarding new team members after training and ensuring that team members are continually developing professional growth.
  • Demonstrates exceptional teamwork and collectively works with all team members as “ONE TEAM”.
  • Skilled at networking in the community through member and community outreach.
  • Actively pursues new business opportunities in the community.
  • Responsible for the internal and external appearance of the branch.

  • Serves as Loan Officer with a thorough knowledge of credit union criteria for granting credit.
  • May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision.
  • Directly supervises employees in the branch.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
