About The Position

The Branch Manager position provides oversight of the overall management, operations, and financial performance for the assigned area. This role performs consistently as a subject matter expert to achieve communicated objectives, including profitability, growth, and overall performance metrics. The company is a full-service provider for fire detection, suppression, and security with a full suite of capabilities that includes design, installation, testing, inspections, and maintenance, serving customers across many verticals on a local, regional, and national scale. Requirements

  • 5+ years in the Fire Protection Industry with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, required
  • 5 years Fire Protection Industry experience, required
  • 2 years leadership experience with over 10 direct and indirect subordinates, required
  • 3 years analytical using business intelligence systems, Sage 300 CRE, or similar, required.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office required.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, required
  • Must be able to comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET II, III, IV or state equivalent, preferred.
  • 5 years of professional computer skills, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Achieving branch objectives through enhancement and improvements of operations and sales.
  • Oversight of the branch’s fire extinguisher inspections & services; pre-engineered inspections, services, & installs; fire sprinkler inspections, service, & installs; and fire alarm inspection & services.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of assigned area, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statement(s), gross revenue, gross margin, and overhead.
  • Communicating and strategizing with management regarding financial progress, growth strategies, human capital requirements, and regular or irregular needs of the office.
  • Ensuring proper execution of internal workflow/paperwork, work in the field, quality assurance / quality control, and all work is performed in a safe manner within local, state federal guidelines.
  • Maintaining proper employment communication and documentation using company procedures and policies, in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels with Talent Acquisition.
  • Identifying, assessing, cultivating, and mentoring future managers and leaders within the location.
  • Overseeing proper use, maintenance, and repair of company assets including equipment, tools, supplies, and fleet in coordination with corporate Purchasing and Fleet department.
  • Managing work performed within assigned area, including oversight of spot checks of recent field inspections for quality review, ride-a-longs with field Technicians for training and improvement, and route management of Technicians.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of the branch location.
  • Attending and monitoring install project meetings and other coordination meetings, as needed.
  • Overseeing coordination and execution of inspections and service jobs in the assigned area.
  • Leading coordination of final checkout/commissioning with AHJ, Owner, Architect/Engineer, General Contractor/Construction Manager, etc.
  • Ensuring appropriate and necessary communication of schedules, product/material, information, and coordination of work between Sales and Operations.
  • Reviewing the Shop’s material preparation, orders, job staging, and tool preparation appropriate for job scheduling.
  • Ensuring proper use, maintenance, and repair of tools, equipment, and fleet are achieved.
  • Managing material orders to regulate standard stock quantities in coordination with the Purchasing department.
  • Overseeing communication with the Billing department for accurate and timely invoicing practices.
  • Overseeing the sales department with business development to achieve increased market share in the assigned area.
  • Participating in quote presentation for legacy customers.
  • Promoting and coordinating continuing education and certification of employees.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
