About The Position

Connex Credit Union is seeking diverse talent motivated to improve the financial well-being of others for a Branch Manager position. This role is responsible for branch growth, improved profitability, and member relationships through business development and staff coaching. The Branch Manager supervises a maximum of five full-time employees in a lower volume or ITM branch. The position requires a commitment to outstanding member service and identifying financial needs to improve members' financial lives. The company reserves the right to transfer employees to other locations if deemed in the best interest of the credit union.

Requirements

  • Proven commitment to providing quality service to members illustrated by past record of exemplary member interaction.
  • Ability to successfully lead a large branch and staffing compliment.
  • Minimum 3 years retail sales management or branch experience and heavy retail and commercial customer contact environment.
  • 3+ years interviewing experience in consumer loans and related insurances.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent educational or a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Strong sales-oriented customer service skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union systems (retail and operations).
  • Experience in accounting, researching records and loan processing desirable.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing consumer banking.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally.
  • Ability to analyze member problems and find beneficial solutions in a timely manner.
  • Continued education through selected training courses.
  • After hours meetings required.
  • Windows, Microsoft Word & Excel skills.
  • Provides coverage to other branches as needed.
  • 40+ hours per week, some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and ensure branch staff deliver high-quality service to members.
  • Coach sales and service skills to all branch team members, including developing sales & service leadership skills in Service Coordinators & Assistant Branch Managers.
  • Oversee employee development, including guidance, career planning, and disciplinary actions.
  • Drive quality hiring for all branch positions.
  • Assist the VP of Branch Administration in goal development, analysis, and adjustments.
  • Ensure the branch meets and exceeds its goals.
  • Assign, coordinate, and monitor workflow and productivity to ensure high levels of accuracy, quality, and quantity.
  • Drive branch reporting by compiling individual branch results.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the Branch according to written standards, including security procedures.
  • Resolve member problems and respond to inquiries beyond the authority of other Branch personnel.
  • Advise the VP of Customer Branch Administration on training needs and/or production problems.
  • Ensure branches maintain and utilize all Marketing provided.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate Member Service Staff through training support and filling vacancies promptly.
  • Ensure all branch staff complies with federal laws, regulations, internal controls, and credit union policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ rates and terms and other trends related to the credit union industry and share this knowledge with the branch team.
  • Make recommendations to the VP of Branch Administration for changes and improvements in procedures.
  • Ensure successful project management.
  • Drive the connectivity and cohesiveness of all branches with the main office.
  • Build and maintain relationships with SEG groups and local businesses to grow the business.
  • Maintain a regular schedule for business development.
  • Participate in the community to grow awareness and brand recognition.
  • Interview loan applicants, analyze credit and financial information, and make decisions on loans within prescribed limitations.
  • Accurately complete required loan forms and related documents.
  • Assure quality control of loan check disbursements.
  • Pre-qualify prospective mortgage and home equity candidates and coordinate 1st mortgage interviews.
  • Keep abreast of all changes in Lending procedures and policies.
