About The Position

Hamlin Bank is seeking a Branch Manager/Loan Officer to service existing customer needs and provide outreach to future customers. As an integral member of the team, your work has significant impact. The Branch Manager/Loan Officer is responsible for oversight and management of the bank’s lending operations, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio. This role involves supervising support personnel, evaluating creditworthiness, approving loans within delegated authority, and driving customer satisfaction through efficient loan services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of credit principles, analytical skills and have the ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team. This position profile is not all inclusive and is representative of the key areas of competence and skills to perform essential functions of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support overall banking needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of banking loan products, industry underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with policy and procedure development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in loan management systems and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve loan applications within established bank policies and authority limits.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely processing of all loan products (personal, commercial, mortgage, etc.)
  • Monitor adherence to federal and state banking regulations, as well as internal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate credit risks to maintain portfolio quality.
  • Supervise and mentor loan officers and support staff.
  • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback for staff, provide training as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve escalated customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare loan portfolio reports for senior management.
  • Analyze lending trends and recommend strategies to improve profitability and minimize risk.
  • Summarize and strategically evaluate any loans that are in arrears and create customer-based solutions.
