About The Position

This position supports sales efforts at a Sherwin-Williams floorcovering store and coordinates all aspects of floorcovering installation through independent contractors to service wholesale floorcovering customers. The role assists with identifying floorcovering installers, scheduling installations, and ensuring work meets expectations. The position is based at Store #1390, 12256 Hubbard St, Livonia, MI 48150-1737. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; the position may require working scheduled evening and weekend hours.

The role involves contact with customers, including potentially minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other items of value. The company requires a criminal history review to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future sponsorship for an employment work visa.
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Must be willing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
• Previous work experience selling floorcovering and/or floorcovering products.
• Prior work experience operating floorcovering cutting equipment.
• Previous work experience installing floorcovering.
• Carpet and Vinyl Installation Certification by the Carpet and Rug Institute.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Support sales efforts at a Sherwin-Williams floorcovering store serving wholesale customers.
• Assist the Branch Manager in identifying floorcovering installers.
• Establish installation schedules and communicate assignments.
• Perform on-site inspections of installations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Review new and existing floorcovering installer accounts, including contacting outside sources for information.
• Ensure installer transactions are handled properly through the store computer operating system and that records are maintained.
• Determine floorcovering installation training needs and require training as appropriate.
